USER MANUAL - SOLIS INVERTER TO LBSA HV BATTERY
PLEASE READ THIS MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE OPERATING AND RETAIN FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
NAVIGATE THE MANUAL
INTRODUCTION
This manual is intended to offer Lithium Batteries South Africa clients with Solis HV specific guidance when setting up communication between the battery and inverter. For further details pertaining to the setup of the Solis HV equipment not pertaining directly to the LBSA interface please refer to the various manuals available on the Solis website. Likewise, for further information pertaining to the LBSA batteries, please refer to the LBSA website to download the user manuals (https://lithiumbatteriessa.co.za/) or contact Lithium Batteries South Africa at 010 110 1991.
COMMUNICATION CABLE
The CAN cable used between the LBSA battery and the Solis Inverter is a straight pin to pin cable. The cable will go into the port on the LBSA battery labeled CAN to the port on the Deye inverter labeled BMS 485/ CAN.
Protocol | Description |
---|---|
CAN |
Pin 4 : CAN-H Pin 5: CAN-L Pin 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8: NC |
The ports numbered "2" are for the CAN connections. Ensure to connect each LBSA WFRE HV battery with CAN for the CAN failover feature to be utilized.

BATTERY SETUP WITH COMMUNICATION
To establish communication between the battery(s) and inverter, go to the battery settings. The battery type must be set to Lithium and the Protocol as PYLON_HV. Set the charge and discharge current according to the specifications of the battery(s). The inverter will not allow higher values than it is rated for.

The battery must be set to the Pylon HV protocol in the Parameters tab. Set the Dynamic Charge Voltage to 000 if it is not already set to this value.

Questions | Answers |
---|---|
How do I size my battery to my Solis inverter? | Every Inverter has a voltage range that must be adhered to. The max voltage of your pack must not exceed the max voltage of the inverter. The same goes for the minimum voltage, it cannot be below the inverter's minimum. |
SIZING THE BATTERY FOR THE INVERTER
The battery cut off voltage must be above the inverter's minimum voltage. The battery bulk and float charging voltage must be below the inverter's maximum voltage.
Number of Modules | Watt Hour | Min Voltage | Max Voltage |
---|---|---|---|
3x Modules (min) | 23,961.6Wh | 198 V | 252.9 V |
4x Modules | 31,948 Wh | 264 V | 337.2 V |
5x Modules | 39,935 Wh | 330 V | 421.5 V |
6x Modules | 47,922 Wh | 396 V | 505.8 V |
7x Modules | 55,909 Wh | 462 V | 590.1 V |
8x Modules | 63,896 Wh | 528 V | 674.4 V |
9x Modules | 71,883 Wh | 594 V | 758.7 V |
10x Modules | 79, 870 Wh | 660 V | 843 V |
11x Modules | 87, 857 Wh | 726 V | 927.3 V |
You can put as many batteries as you want but if you only have a 50kw inverter, you will only be able to draw 50kw.
