How It Works
During the Day
Solar panels power your load through the VSD while the HV battery absorbs any excess energy. This keeps your battery charged and ready for when you need it most.
Evenings (Around 6 p.m.)
When solar production drops after sunset, the battery automatically takes over, allowing you to continue running equipment like pivots for a few extra hours.
Early Mornings (5 a.m. – 8 a.m.)
Before the sun rises and your PV system begins producing power again, the battery powers your pivots, ensuring irrigation starts on time. Once daylight returns, the battery recharges using the available solar energy, ready to repeat the cycle.

For the battery to charge effectively during the day:

Ensure your solar array’s open-circuit voltage (Voc) is 15–40% higher than the battery’s charge voltage.
This ensures consistent charging and optimal performance of your HV battery and VSD system.
